Barrister Bernadette McGurk, UK; scofflaw

The Bar of England and Wales by Lincoln’s Inn provided Bernadette Kathleen McGurk with a law license in 2010 after she graduated from the University of Bristol School of Law.

The Bar Standards Board found Bernadette guilty of the following misconduct.

• Engaged in the illegal practice of law without valid barrister’s practicing certificate
• Failed to take steps to achieve compliance with her legal and regulatory obligations

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the apologists for Barrister Misfits sitting on the Bar Standards Board punished Bernadette by gifting her with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
