Attorney James Colin of Las Vegas, NV; ethical dwarf

The state of Nevada provided James Colin with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from Jimmy also received a license to practice law from the state of Washington in 1994.

The Nevada Disciplinary Board found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct, all of which involved his reaction to the rejection of a death penalty appeal prosecuted by Jimmy on behalf of condemned prisoner Charles Lee Randolph by the Nevada Supreme Court. (David Ferrara Las Vegas Review-Journal) In his appellate brief to the Supreme Court Jimmy said in part.

• “The court is drunk with power, acting like a lawless bully, just lying and cheating to accomplish its evil objective to see Randolph dead”
• “This Nevada Supreme Court has no respect for the Nevada Constitution, or the law of the United States of America.”
• “The Court’s despicable and blatantly lawless actions have repeatedly proven this sad truth.”
• “The justices were vindictive, dishonest and totally biased … They have concocted false and unsupportable legal theories … and appear to be willing to do anything to achieve their evil aims.”

For airing his free speech rights to criticize the justices of the Nevada Supreme Court, Chief Justice Stiglich made the following laughable statements in ordering that Jimmy be disciplined.

• “Colin violated duties owed to the legal system: making false statements about the integrity of a judge and engaging in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice.
• “Colin’s misconduct harmed the legal system and likely the public’s perception of the legal system.”

Now, if the defendant had made the same statements about the justices, he could not have been subjected to the same treatment that was meted out to Jimmy. Put simply, just because Jimmy is a licensed attorney, the justices can freely punish him as they see fit regardless of whether he speaks the truth in criticizing their ruling.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Nevada Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.
