Attorney Tyler Boyd of Jenison, MI; thieving slacker

The state of Michigan presented Tyler James Boyd with a law license in 2011 after he graduated from Wayne State University School of Law.

The Kent County Hearing Panel #3 found Tyler guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Committed professional misconduct in his representation of a client for whom he hired to file an application for Permanent Residency with the Department of Homeland Security U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS)
  • Handled a legal matter without preparation adequate in the circumstances
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to keep client informed of status of legal matter
  • Failed to promptly respond to client information requests
  • Failed to refund unearned fee paid in advance (crook)
  • Made false state of material fact to a client or third party

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Michigan Supreme Court punished Tyler by gifting him with a complimentary 180-day suspension of his law license.

Additionally, Tyler was ordered to pay restitution of $3,195.00 and assessed costs of $2,073.30.

As we speak (ca. February 2020), Tyler practices at 2995 Bauer Road in Jenison, Michigan.
