Donald “Trumporleone” Trump fails to take credit for falling consumer confidence

As usual, The Great Leader once again fails to take credit for bad economic news. In this instance, Richard Curtin, the University of Michigan economist who directs the consumer sentiment surveys report ed that U.S. Consumer sentiment plunged 8.6 points in August 2019. (Niv Elis)  

Curtin reported that the 8.6-point decline was the largest in nearly eight years. Mr. Curtin went on to say:

“The August data indicate that the erosion of consumer confidence due to tariff policies is now well under way.”

It shouldn’t be long before The Great Leader blames the 8.5-decline on Obama and/or Hillary Clinton. 

One thing we can take to the bank is that The Great Leader will never accept responsibility for the plunge in consumer confidence. Who knows, maybe he’ll blame it on Jimmy Kimmel, the New York Times and/or SNL’s Alec Baldwin.
