Attorney Timothy Barnes of Salt Lake City; ethically insolvent

Timothy Barnes received his license to practice law in 2003 after he graduated from the University of Wyoming,

After receiving his law license, Timothy joined a small law firm in western Nebraska. During the time Timothy practiced in Nebraska, he was found guilty of the following misconduct involving his so-called representation of a nonprofit corporation.
  • Failed to return unearned fees and expenses when requested
  • Failed to complete work for client
  • Failed to inform corporation that he closed his office and moved to Utah
  • Lied to corporation that he would return unearned fees/expenses
As a consequence of his misconduct the Nebraska Supreme Court punished Timothy by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

Because Timothy was licensed to practice in Utah, he received a reciprocal reprimand from Judge Kate A. Toomey of the Third District Court in Salt Lake City

As we speak (ca. March 2012) Timothy practices law at 299 South Main Street in Salt Lake
