Attorney Arthur Gilmore Jr. of Monroe, LA; convicted of racketeering

The state of Louisiana presented Arthur Gilmore Jr. with a law license in 1995 after he graduated from Tulane University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Art guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Convicted of federal racketeering charge
  • Accepted bribes in exchange for taking favorable actions on behalf of individuals and organizations having business before the Monroe City Council, of which he was an elected member
  • Sentenced to 24-months in federal prison

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Art by gifting him with a complimentary 5-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. June 2019), Art practices with Irvin & Araujo LLC at 650 Poydras Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.
