Attorney Doris Weston of Baton Rouge, LA; ethical goblin

The state of Louisiana presented Doris McWhite Weston with a law license in 1999 after she graduated from Louisiana State University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Doris guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to timely pay medical provider from client settlement funds
  • Failed to pay $4,901 chiropractic bill involving her father’s personal injury matter
  • Used escrowed funds to improperly pay operating and personal expenses
  • Didn’t pay chiropractor’s bill until 11 months after receipt of settlement funds

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Doris by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Doris.

As we speak (ca. June 2019), Doris practices her brand of law at 11755 Goodwood Blvd in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
