Attorney Alicia Butler of New Iberia, LA; slacker, loser

The state of Louisiana presented Alicia Johnson Butler with a law license in 2000 after she graduated from Southern University School of Law.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Kemic guilty of the following misconduct.

• Settled client’s personal injury matter with client’s consent
• Failed to safeguard client funds
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to properly communicate with her client
• Failed to promptly pay client and third parties funds they were entitled to receive

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Alicia by gifting her with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of her law license. 

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Alicia.
