Attorney Jamal Boykin of Nashville; cheating slacker

The state of Tennessee unfortunately presented Jamaal L. Boykin with a law license in 2012 after he graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law.

The Board of Professional Responsibility found Jamal guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Violated or attempted to violate Rules of Conduct or knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Failed to expedite client litigation
  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Failed to adequately communicate with client
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker) involving five clients
  • Failed to timely refund unearned fees [cheater]
  • Failed to terminate/decline representation when required to do so

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Tennessee Supreme Court punished Jamal by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. April 2019), Jamal practices at 648 Grassmere Park in Nashville, Tennessee.
