Attorney Guy Chappell III of Birmingham, AL; lying loser

The state of Georgia provided Guy DeWitt Chappell III with a law license in 1997 after he graduated from the Samford University School of Law.

The Georgia State Bar found Guy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Violated or attempted to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induced another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Knowingly made a false statement of material fact
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice
  • Knowingly and intentionally misappropriated (stole) client funds (thief)
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Guy!)
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Failed to maintain proper client trust account records

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Guy by gifting him with a complimentary 18-month suspension of his law license effective October 2017.

As we speak (ca. July 2018), Luther will resume his practices in Birmingham, Alabama in April 2019.
