The state of Missouri presented Rick L. Nelson with a law license in 1980 after he graduated from the University of Iowa Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Ricky guilty of the following misconduct.

• Commingled client funds with personal funds
• Made improper disbursement based upon a deposit wherein he had reasonable cause to believe the funds had not actually been collected by the financial institution in which his trust account was held

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on Disciplinary Counsel punished Ricky by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year term of probation.

In truth, the comedians sitting on Disciplinary Counsel didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Ricky.
