Attorney Wayne Garrett of New Orleans; ethical gnome

The state of Louisiana presented Wayne E. Garrett with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Lousiana State University Law School.

The Office of Disciplinary Counsel found Wayne guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to safeguard client funds
  • Violated or attempt to violate the Rules of Professional Conduct, knowingly assisted or induce another to do so, or did so through the acts of another
  • Commingled client funds with personal funds
  • Violated duties he owed to his clients
  • Failed to promptly deliver funds owing to client

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court punished Charlie by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 6-month suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Louisiana Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Wayne.

As we speak (ca. September 2017), Wayne practices with Wayne E. Garrett APLC at 4150 Toulouse Street in New Orleans, Louisiana.
