Attorney William Whittle of Corpus Christi; ethical elf

The state of Texas presented William A. Whittle with a law license in 1970 after he graduated from the University of Texas Law School.

The 214th District Court of Nueces County found Billy guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Failed to follow elementary bankruptcy court rules
  • Failed to make necessary disclosures in client’s bankruptcy filing
  • Failed to disclose to bankruptcy court that Billy was a creditor of his client in the client’s bankruptcy filing
  • Rather than return funds owing to his client during the pendency of the bankruptcy proceedings, Billy paid the firms to himself and/or his firm

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the Patron Saints for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Texas Supreme Court punished Billy by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Billy.

As we speak (ca. December 2017), Billy practices with The Whittle Law Firm PLLC at 5151 Flynn Parkway in Corpus Christi, Texas.
