Attorney Melinda Alfredson of Oshkosh, WI; thieving liar

The state of Wisconsin presented Melinda Alfredson with a law license in 2009 after she graduated from Marquette University Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) found Melinda guilty of the following misconduct.

• Failed to pursue client appeal for more than one year
• Failed to provide client with accurate info on status of matter
• Provided false info to ethics investigators (Up yours, said Melinda!)
• Delayed filing client petition for custody
• Failed to serve custody petition on opposing party/counsel
• Failed to provide client with written disclosures required when a fee advance is deposited into the business account
• Failed to properly withdraw from representation
• Failed to timely file consent for substitution of counsel
• Failed to refund any unearned advance fee (thief)
• Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit, or misrepresentation
• Charged client $75 service fee when she was never billed for said service (crook)
• Provided false information to client regarding status of her case
• Failed to address negative balances in trust account caused by overdrafts
• Wrote checks on insufficient funds account (rubber)
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Melinda!)

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Melinda by gifting her with a complimentary 2-month suspension of her law license.

Because Attorney Misfits in Wisconsin are held to a much lower standard of conduct then everyone else, Melinda  was never prosecuted writing bad checks or fraud.  

As we speak (ca. April 2017), Melinda practices with Clausen Law LLC at 215 Market Street in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
