Attorney Randy Harris of Jackson, MS; scofflaw

In one matter, Hinds County Circuit Court Judge Jeff Weill ordered Randy to represent a indigent defendant. It should be noted that most if not all judges in the country are possessed with the power to order and appoint any attorney in their jurisdiction to act as counsel for an indigent criminal defendant.

In this instance, Randy refused to comply with Judge Weill’s order. Randy’s laughable defense was that he feared he would not be paid for his so-called legal services. This claim doesn’t pass the involuntary laugh test since it would Hinds County that would be responsible to pay Randy’s legal fees.

Subsequently, Judge Weill found Randy in criminal contempt for refusing to comply with his order and sanctioned him $100. Randy the Loser then appealed the contempt ruling to the Mississippi Supreme Court. The Supreme Court later ruled in favor of Judge Weill and against Randy the Loser.

As we speak (March 2017), Randy is now employed by the Hinds County District Attorney’s Office at 407 Pascagoula Street in Jackson, Mississippi.

It should be noted that Hinds County is the same County that is now paying Randy’s wages; however, when he refused to comply with Judge Weill’s order he had the temerity to falsely claim he was fearful Hinds County wouldn’t pay him.

And lastly, one thing we can be sure of is that no self-respecting law firm in the greater Jackson, Mississippi area was or is about to offer Randy the Loser a good paying job.
