Attorney Janet Reed of Jacksonville, NC; lying loser

The state of North Carolina provided Janet P. Reed with a law license in 1997 after she graduated from the University of Illinois Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar has charged Janet with engaging in the following misconduct.

In one matter, Janet engaged in plea negotiations with an assistant district attorney but did not disclose the existence of an additional criminal charge against her client and added this charge to the plea agreement form for dismissal without notifying the prosecutor or obtaining his consent.

In another matter, Janet filed a motion containing false factual allegations.

As a consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Janet by gifting her with a complimentary 5-year suspension of her law license.

In early 2016, the comedians sitting on the Grievance Committee reinstated Janet’s law license. Apparently, they were of the firm belief that Janet had a constitutional right to earn a dishonest living practicing law.

As we speak (ca. July 2016) Janet practices in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
