Attorney Kristen Ruth of Raleigh; ethical gremlin

The state of North Carolina provided Kristin Holmquist Ruth with a law license in 1991 after she graduated from Campbell University Law School.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Kristin guilty of the following misconduct, all of which took place while she was a sitting District Court judge.

  • Pled guilty to misdemeanor of failing to properly discharge duties of her office as a District Court judge
  • Failed to read orders presented for her signature prior to signing said orders
  • Failed to exercise due care
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a consequence of her misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Kristin by gifting her with a complimentary reprimand.

Knowing the voters weren’t about to reelect a lazy loser, Kristin took the coward’s way out and resigned from the bench.

As we speak (ca. June 2015) Kristin practices with Smith Debnam Narron Drake Santsing & Meyers LLP in Raleigh, North Carolina.

As one would suspect, the Smith firm failed to disclose the aforementioned misconduct of Kristine on its self-serving website at www.smithdebnamlaw.com. Apparently, the firm chose to conceal said misconduct so as to not limit its future victim pool.
