In November 2012, Cecil duped the voters in the suburbs of Houston into electing him as a member of the Texas House of Representatives.

Cecil has dedicated his political career in proving that he’s one of Texas’ most upstanding bigots and homophobes.

Recently (May 2015) Cecil introduced legislation entitled: “The Preservation of Sovereignty and Marriage Act”  that would establish the “sovereignty” of Texas to bar funds for the issuance of marriage licenses to gay and lesbian couples in the event the Supreme Court were to rule in favor of marriage equality.

Cecil laughingly proclaims that his legislation would simply assert what Justice Anthony Kennedy expressed in his decision that found the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional.

In an interview with Sirius XM Progress, Cecil stated in part:

• “I think if you look at the issue at hand, at least from my perspective, you have Justice Kennedy in his affirm inWindsor saying that it is the sovereign right of the separate states and of the people to define and regulate marriage.”

In truth, Kennedy did not joint in with the majority against DOMA on the basis of “states rights.” Kennedy stated that even though states have much authority over marriage, he agreed with the concept of “limited federal laws that regulate the meaning of marriage in order to further federal policy. In short, Kennedy was of the opinion that DOMA was a mean-spirited law that was motivated by bias against the gay community.

Cecil laughingly claims his legislation isn’t about “ideology,” despite the fact that he refers to Texas voters’ “Christian” in upholding Texas’ so-called “sovereignty.”

Cecil laughingly portrays himself as a “Family Values Man” who is intent on protecting marriage. However, in his official bio Cecil conveniently fails to mention that his marriage to his alleged “high school sweetheart, came after he divorced his first wife. In fact, his second wife gave birth to his son a little over five months after they were married. This means that Cecil was screwing his second wife while he was married to his first wife.

Therefore, in addition to being a philandering adulterer, Cecil is also a congenital hypocrite. In fact, he gives hypocrisy a bad name.

Given Cecil’s virulent anti-gay record, ne must seriously wonder why he expends so much energy spewing forth hatred towards members of the gay community. Maybe we need to ask Cecil the following question:

“What’s in your closet, Cecil?”
