Attorney James Bone of Villa Rica, GA; lying loser

The state of Georgia presented James H. Bone with a law license in 1972 after he graduated from Emory University Law School.

The Georgia State Bar found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Jimmy made a tape recording of a settlement conference with the knowledge of the participants. During the conference Jimmy agreed to contact the creditors of the Chapter 13 debtor’s former wife, who had appeared as a creditor of the Chapter 13 debtor, to explain her financial difficulties as the result of her failure to receive payments through the bankruptcy case.

After a settlement agreement was executed, the debtor’s former wife asked Jimmy’s assistant for a copy of the recording of the settlement conference, and the assistant prepared a compact disc of the recording and a cover letter for Jimmy’s signature.

However, Jimmy subsequently destroyed the disc, did not send the letter, and instructed his staff to delete the original recording from the computer system. When the wife filed a motion to rescind the settlement agreement that had been approved by the court, Jimmy filed an answer wherein he stated no recording of the settlement conference existed due to mechanical error.

After an ethics investigation began, Jimmy the Liar admitted that he had instructed his staff to delete the recording and to tell the court that a digital copy had been found.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Georgia Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 3-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. Jerry 2015), Jimmy practices with the Vaughn Law Firm at 418 Westview Drive in Villa Rica, Georgia.
