Judge Steven King of Oneonta, AL; dimwitted slacker

The state of Alabama provided Steven King with a law license in 1998 after he graduated from the University of Vermont School of Law

The Alabama Court of the Judiciary found Stevie guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to perform judicial duties competently (dimwit)
  • Failed to comply with the law (scofflaw)
  • Failed to act in manner promoting public confidence in the judiciary
  • Failed to avoid impropriety and the appearance of impropriety
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to perform judicial duties impartially
  • Authored anonymous letter criticizing Blount County Commissioners and a Warrior police officer, claiming they were unfit for public office

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Alabama Supreme Court punished Stevie by gifting him with a complimentary censure and assessed costs of $1,116.50.

As we speak (ca. June 2024), Stevie practices his so-called brand of jurisprudence as a Blount County Circuit Court Judge in Oneonta, Alabama.
