Attorney John Donboli of San Diego, CA; ethical troll

The state of California presented John H. Donboli with a law license in 1999 after he graduated from George Washington University School of Law.

The State Bar Court found Johnny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Improperly accepted $8,750 as compensation from Corey McCann for representing a client, Valeriane Cabay, without first obtaining the client’s informed written consent to receive such compensation
• Improperly accepted $5,000 as compensation from Corey McCann for representing a client, Valeriane Cabay, without first obtaining the client’s informed written consent to receive such compensation
• Failed to render
• Received settlement check for $451,747.20 on behalf of Valeriane Cabay in December 2018
• As of July 2022, Johnny has failed to account in writing to his client regarding the $451,747.20 in settlement funds he received on the client’s behalf
• Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Johnny!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the State Bar Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary 60month suspension of his law license. 

And lastly, as one would suspect, Johnny fails to mention the misconduct set forth above on his self-serving website at www.donbolilawgroup.com. Apparently, he chose to conceal this relevant information from prospective client for the purpose of not limiting his future victim pool.

As we speak (ca. July 2022), Johnny practices his so-called brand of law with the Donboli Law Group APC at 13223 Black Mountain Road in San Diego, California.
