Judge John Dow of Tooele, UT; ethical ogre

The state of Utah presented John Mack Dow with a law license in 1990 after he graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law.

FYI: Johnny has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the publid trough for the past twenty-six (26) years. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in the greater Tooele area.

The Judicial Conduct Commission fund Johnny guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

• Distributed a short, graphic video showing a man’s scrotum via test to the Tooele Justice Court clerks
• Court clerks described an unprofessional work environment
• Clerks expressed their concern about Johnny’s possible retaliation against them for speaking with ethics investigators
• Failed to avoid impropriety or the appearance of impropriety
• Failed to act in dignified manner towards court clerks
• Engaged in harassing conduct including communication of a sexual nature that was unwelcome

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Johnny’s First bite at the Judicial Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received a warning letter for failing to behave in a patient, dignified, and courterous manner with litigants or other participants in the court system.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Judicial Misfits sitting on the Utah Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. May 2020), Johnny continues to sit as a Tooele Justice Court judge in Tooele, Utah.
