Judge Wilfredo Benitez of East Orange, NJ; potty mouth drunk

The state of New Jersey presented Wilfredo Benitez with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Rutgers University Law School.

The Supreme Court of New Jersey Advisory Committee on Judicial Conduct has charged Willie with engaging in the following misconduct

• Found by state trooper on Interstate 80 on side of road sleeping in his car
• While speaking to trooper, the trooper detected strong odor of booze emanating from Willie’s breath and observed that his eyes were bloodshot
• When asked if he had been drinking, Willie lied when he said “Not at all, sir”
• Attempted to use judicial office to advance personal interest

While the trooper conducted several sobriety tests, Willie said:

• “I mean what are you trying to do? I mean, I’m a judge.”
• “I can't believe you're doing this.”
• “I'm not a fucking drug addict. I'm not drunk." he told the troopers, according to the complaint lodged against him.
• "I'm a fucking judge. You're not going to give me any courtesy?"

After the trooper handcuffed Willie he made the following statements.

• “You’re wasting your time, and you know it.”
• “I’ll fight you.”
• “You know you’re being a dick.”
• “I will fucking fight you.”

All that remains now is to see what if any punishment is meted out to Willie by the apologists for Judicial Misfits sitting on the New Jersey Supreme Court.

As we speak (ca. June 2018), Willie continues to sit as a Municipal Court Judge in East Orange and Belleville, New Jersey.
