Ex. Judge Victor Barron of Brooklyn, NY; convicted felon

The state of New York presented Victor Barron with a law license in 1966 after he graduated from Brooklyn University Law School.

In 1998, Victor succeeded in duping the voters in Brooklyn into electing him as a Supreme Court Judge. FYI: a Supreme Court Judge in New York is the same as a Common Pleas Judge in Ohio or Pennsylvania and/or a Superior Court Judge in California, all of whom are

In 2002, Victor was caught on videotape in his chambers accepting $18,000 in marked bills as a bribe. Victor was then indicted for bribery and pleaded guilty to receiving the $18,000 bribe and demanding an additional sum of $115,000 from a plaintiff’s attorney during a hearing regarding a multi-million dollar personal injury case.

In June 2001 Barron took advantage of a law that requires any settlement of a case on behalf of an infant to be approved by a judge. Attorney Gary Berenholtz, who cooperated with the DA, submitted a settlement involving an injured child for $4.9 million to Victor, which would have meant a lawyer’s fee of $1.6 million.

Judge Barron then demanded $250,000 to approve the settlement, but then dropped his price to $115,000. This not only probes that Barron was a thieving whore, but that he was a cheap whore. If an attorney received a referral from another attorney in a personal injury case, the referring attorney would receive 1/3rd of any settlement. In this case, Victor agreed to accept 7.2% of the $1.6 million in fees wherein the referral-lawyer would have received about $530,000.

In October 2002, Victor was sentenced to a term of three to nine years in prison. However, while in prison, Victor still received his $97,000 a year state pension.

It is of course absolutely ridiculous that a felon like Victor is allowed to collect a $97,000 pension and medical insurance for the balance of his miserable life. Had Victor been convicted in New Mexico or Oklahoma for that matter, by law, his pension and insurance would have been forfeited.

Had Barron committed his criminal activity while sitting as a Judge in New Mexico or Oklahoma, by law he would have been prohibited from collecting a pension or health insurance from the state.

Isn’t New York a great Country? Victor damn sure believes it is!
