Solicitor Brendan McManus of Dublin, Ireland; ethical ogre

The Law Society of Ireland presented Brendan McManus with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from Queen’s University School of Law.

The Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal found Brendan guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to communicate with client in timely manner or at all
  • Failed to comply with an undertaking to the Registrar’s Committee that he would revert to the society within two weeks
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Brendan!)
  • Failed to hand over title documentation relating to two properties owned by a former client in a timely manner or at all, despite being requested to do so

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Solicitor Misfits sitting on the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal punished Brendan by gifting him with a complimentary fine of £2,000.

As we speak (ca. June 2020), Brendan practices with Chris Ryan & Co. Solicitors at 18 North King Street in Dublin, Ireland.
