Gov. Greg Abbott: Today’s “Humanitarian” Award Winner
While approving a two-year state budget in mid-June 2015, Greg the Humanitarian saw fit to give the green light to a law that prohibits Planned Parenthood from participating in the joint state-federal Breast and Cervical Cancer Services program, which provides cancer screening for poor, uninsured women in Texas. (Alexa Ura, Texas Tribune)
In response to Greg’s humanitarian effort, Planned Parenthood Federation of America president Cecile Richards (daughter of former Texas Gov. Anne Richards) said in part:
What Ms. Richards apparently fails to appreciate is that allowing low income women in Texas to fall victim to ovarian cancer will be a boon to medical professionals that historically support the GOP in Texas. Even though the women are likely uninsured, Medicaid will be mandated to pick up the tab for their chemotherapy, etc.
In short, in Texas Gregg and his cohorts cheerfully support cancer for low income women because it’ll be a boon to the doctors and medical facilities that support the GOP. Even though the women are likely uninsured, Medicaid will be mandated to pick up the tab for their chemotherapy, etc.
Goshes and Gollies and Gee Whillickers, isn’t Texas a Wonderful Country that is being led by one of America’s Premier Humanitarians?
Congrats Greg; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Humanitarians”; you are far too humble. |
