State Sen. Brandon Smith (R-KY): Today’s Moron Award Winner

Congratulations to….

State Sen. Brandon Smith (R-KY)

Today’s Moron Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Sarah. In the past, he has been the recipient of sixteen (16) Awards in various categories and/or the subject of opinion pieces. Those awards and opinion pieces are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.

Brandon was successful in duping the voters in the greater Hazard, Kentucky area into electing him to the Kentucky State Senate in 2008.

As the owner of a coal plant, Brandon is another right wing comedian that denies that human activity has anything to do with climate change and/or global warming.

When the EPA announced new regulations on pollution involving coal fired plants, Brandon became very agitated. During a recent (07/02/14) meeting of the Interim Joint Committee on Natural Resources and Environment, Brandon the Moron said:

  • “I won’t get into the debate about climate change.”
  • ‘But But I’ll simply point out that I think in academia we all agree that the temperature on Mars is exactly as it is here. Nobody will dispute that.”
  • “Yet there are no coal mines on Mars. There’s no factories on Mars that I’m aware of.”

It’s obvious that Brandon doesn’t know anything about the temperature on earth verses Mars. If he had spent 30 seconds researching the matter on Google he would have discovered that the average temperature on earth is

  • Average temperature on Earth is about 57 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Average temperature on Mars in about minus 81 degrees Fahrenheit

Basic math tells us that the difference between Mars and Earth is actually is 138 degrees Fahrenheit..

You have to wonder how in the hell this clown ever got elected as a State Senator. In truth, it would appear that Brandon’s I.Q. is somewhere between 57 and 81, which is much more believable than his sham comparison of Earth and Mars. Beam me up Scotty!

Congrats Brandon; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Morons”; you are far too humble.
