State Rep. Paul Shepherd (R-ID): Today’s Moron Award Winner

Congratulations to….

State Rep. Paul Shepherd (R-ID)

Today’s Moron Award Winner

In a recent (02/20/14 offering of legislation, Paulie is attempting to strip the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency)  of its statutory authority thereby enabling Idaho to be free of all EPA regulations other than those specifically approved by Congress. (Katie Valentine)

Tommy’s bill laughingly declares that the EPA’s regulatory authority is unconstitutional and violates the US. Constitution’s “true meaning and intent as given by the founders and ratifiers.”

Of course the Moron’s proposed legislation would never pass constitutional muster if it were passed and then challenged in court.

Apparently, Tommy feels that the coal fired powers plants operated by Amalgamated Sugar in Nampa and Twin Falls, Idaho should be free of any EPA regulations even if it might lead to a spill similar to that of Duke Power in North Carolina.

And of course if Tommy had his way, mining and chemical operations in Idaho would be free to pollute the state as they saw fit.

Congrats Tommy; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Morons”; you are far too humble.
