Supreme Court Justice Sam Alito: Today’s “Idiot” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Sammy. In the past, he has been the recipient of two (2) Awards in various categories. Those awards are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.

The state of New Jersey provided Samuel Anthony Alito Jr. with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from Yale Law School.

It should be noted that Sammy has had his significant snout firmly implanted in the public trough for the past forty-two (42) years, which began immediately after he received his law license in 1976. Apparently, no self-respecting law firm in New Jersey was about to offer Sammy a good paying job.

In a late May 2018 ruling, the Supreme Court voted 8-1 in a case limiting the scope of police searches. The ruling stated that offices must have a warrant to go through a vehicle parked at a home or on its surrounding property.

To further cement his status as a Monumental Idiot (my sincerest apologies to Idiots), Sammy was the only justice to vote against the ruling. In his dissent, the Idiot called the ruling unreasonable. He had the chutzpah to argue that officers had probably and that it was undisputed they could have searched the motorcycle without a warrant if it had been sitting on the curb.

So here we have a monumental idiot arguing that a public curb should be construed as being the same as one’s private driveway. The idiot went on to state:

"An ordinary person of common sense would react to the Court’s decision the way Mr. Bumble famously responded when told about a legal rule that did not comport with the reality of everyday life. 'If that is the law,' he exclaimed, 'the law is a ass — a idiot."

Justice Samuel Alito dissented from the court's ruling, calling it unreasonable. He argued the officers had probable cause and it's undisputed they could have searched the motorcycle without a warrant if it had been sitting on the curb. He said the court only came to the conclusion that a search warrant was needed because the officer had to walk 30 feet or so up the driveway of the house, which was rented by Collins's girlfriend.

In truth, Sammy is both the “ass” and the “idiot” in regards to the Oliver Twist quote.

As we speak (ca. June 2018), Sammy continues to sit as an Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court.
