Rep. Shelley Capito (R-WV): Today’s “IHOP (Flip-Flop” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Rep. Shelley Capito (R-WV)

Today’s “IHOP (Flip-Flop)” Award Winner

Shelly has spent the last 14 years porking out at the public trough as a member of the U.S. Congress from West Virginia.

Shelly is now attempting to replace soon retiring U.S. Sen. Jay Rockefeller in the upcoming November 2014 election.

During a recent (August 2014) interview on MSNBC, Shelley again voiced her support for equal pay for women by saying:

  • Women absolutely deserve equal pay for equal work.”
  • “Equal pay is the law.”
  • “In order to ensure women and men have access to the same opportunities we need to grow our economy and create jobs, and we must invest in job training and skill development.”

Prior to making the statements aforementioned, Shelly repeatedly voted against legislation in Congress that would have bolstered laws against gender discrimination in the work place.

In fact, Shelly voted against the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act in 2007 and did it again in 2009. In addition, she voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act, which would have added further protections to the Equal Pay Act of 1963 in 2008, 2013 and 2014.

As a member of Congress, Shelly isn’t concerned about equal pay for women since by law all members are paid $174,000 a year.

It is sadly apparent that IHOP Shelley will say anything to dupe the voters in West Virginia into electing her to the U.S. Senate.

Congrats Shelly; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Accomplished “Flip-Floppers”; you are far too humble.
