Former Sen. Larry Craig (R-ID): Today’s “Grinch” Award Winner

This isn’t the first Award presented to Larry. In fact, in the past, he has been the recipient of one Rodney Dangerfield Award and/or the subject of three (3) Opinions. That awards and opinions are listed at the end of this article and can be viewed by going to the listed categories.

After his award winning performance of “The Hokey Pokey” in the men’s room at the Minneapolis airport, Larry was criminally charged for his tap-dancing routine.

Rather than pay the $216,000 in attorney fees from his personal funds to defend his criminal conduct, Larry thought it was acceptable to use campaign funds to pay his attorneys.

Recently, the Federal Election Commission has demanded that Larry refund his campaign the $216,000 he paid in attorney fees and it has also asked that he pay a fine of $140,000. Those penalties were submitted to U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson of Washington, D.C. for her approval.

Larry the Comic has been fighting the FEC’s claims by arguing that his memorable trip to the men’s room at the Minneapolis airport constituted an official duty as a senator because he was traveling between Idaho and D.C. for work. Therefore, the comedian argued that campaign funds could be used to pay his criminal defense fees.

This loser is actually arguing that he was engaged in official senate work when he was performing the “Hokey Pokey” in the men’s room at the Minneapolis Airport.

As the owner of a ranch in Idaho and a generous federal pension after sucking on the public tit for 28 years, I’m sure Pokey-Man had sufficient funds to pay his criminal defense attorneys.

Congrats Larry; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Accomplished “Grinch’s”; you are far too humble.
