Rep. Steve Palazzo (R-MS): Today’s “Bigot” Award Winner

Congratulations to….

Rep. Steve Palazzo (R-MS)

Today’s “Bigot” Award Winner

Stevie succeeded in duping the voters in the greater Biloxi and Hattiesburg areas into electing him as a member of the U.S. House of Representative in November 2010.

In a recent (01/28/14) rant on his online campaign site, Stevie attacked “GAY Hollywood’s version of matrimony” in regards to the on-air weddings at the recent Grammy Awards ceremony.

Stevie is one of the most fervent defenders of the Boy Scouts ban on gay members and is a regular supporter of the famously anti-gay American Family Association and its Premier Bigot, Bryan Fischer.

On his site, Stevie said in part:

  • “Unfortunately, Hollywood doesn’t value the same conservative beliefs we do in Mississippi.”
  • “Last night’s demonstration at the Grammy’s is a perfect example of their disconnect.”

Yeah, one can only fondly reminisce about the Missippi conservative beliefs that supported slavery and laws that made blacks ride in the back of the bus. Yeah, those were the good old days, right Stevie?

Stevie claims that he’s a good Catholic. I was raised in Catholic schools in Toledo, Ohio and I don’t recall any priests, or Bishop George Rehring ever spewing forth hatred of gays like Stevie and those of his ilk do on a daily basis.

I’m fairly confident that Pope Francis isn’t likely to invite Stevie to visit with him at the Vatican any time soon.

Congrats Stevie; keep up the good work! We should let everyone know of your amazing record as one of Americas Least Appreciated “Bigots”; you are far too humble.
