Solicitor Kirsten Harper of New Zealand; ethical troll

The Law Society of New Zealand presented Kirsten Gaye Harper with a law license in 1963 after he graduated from the University of Waikato School of Law.

The New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal found Kirsten guilty of the following misconduct.

  • Involved in numerous (over 70) breaches of the rules surrounding the witnessing of documents, and subsequent
  • Certification
  • Placed client convenience before adherence to the rules of conduct
  • At times Kirsten posted documents to clients whom she already knew, inviting them to sign and return them to her, at
  • which time she would illegally witness their signatures
  • On numerous occasions, Kirsten provided some false certifications that statutory declarations had been taken before her
  • Provided misleading certifications to LINZ
  • Made false statutory declaration that she had known a person for 12 months

As a direct consequence of her misconduct, the enablers for Barrister/Solicitor Misfits sitting on the New Zealand Lawyers and Conveyancers Disciplinary Tribunal punished Kirsten by gifting her with a complimentary censure.
