Attorney Taranjeet Aujla of Alberta, CAN; ethical leprechaun

 

The Law Society of Alberta presented Taranjeet S. Aujla with a law license in 2002 after he graduated from the University of Alberta School of Law.

 

The Alberta Law Society Disciplinary Counsel found Taranjeet guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Signed cheques to disburse trust funds that were received for no legal purpose in contravention of the Rules
  • Failed to conscientiously serve his clients inclusive of failing to get or confirm instructions from or with them on matters that were not within his express or implied authority
  • Failed to properly supervise office staff
  • Negligent supervision of staff led to improper alteration of a document or documents
  • Assisted client in pursuing an improper purpose
  • Instructed assistant to prepare mortgage documents which he failed to review with his client
  • Failed to confirm with his assistant or other lawyers and the client that a meeting had taken place or if they had any questions or concerns
  • Allowed assistant to arrange a meeting for the signing of mortgage document without a lawyer being present

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Disciplinary Board punished Todd by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand assessed costs of $1,000.00.

 

As we speak (ca. May 2021), Taranjeet practices with the Reliance Legal Group LLP at 3961 52nd Avenue NE in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
