Rep. Chris Collins (R-NY): Today’s “Public Official Misfit”

In November 2012, Chris succeeded in duping the voters in the greater Erie County, New York area into electing him as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives.

The House ethics committee is currently (October 2017) investigating, for potentially violating federal law and House rules regarding insider trading.  (Deirdre Walsh, CNN)

An ethics report sets forth how Chris met with officials at the National Institutes of Health to discuss the development of a drug made by Innate, a company whose board he served on. The ethics report states:

“There is a substantial reason to believe that Representative Collins shared material nonpublic information in the purchase of Innate stock, in violation of House rules, standards of conduct, and federal law."

This just another case of a multi-millionaire who believes he is entitled to make millions more by engaging in questionable conduct. Is it any wonder that he endorsed The Don?

All that remains now is to see how long it takes before Chris cops a plea to reduce the amount of time he may well have to spend in the hoosegow if he continues to laughingly claim he’s innocent.

As we speak (October 2017) Chris continues to sit as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives in Albany, New York.
