Attorney Roger Imes of La Crosse, WI; repeat offender

The state of Wisconsin presented Roger L. Imes with a law license in 1969 after he graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Roger guilty of the following misconduct.

·        Failed to inquire about status of client’s worker’s compensation claim

·        Failed to file proof of long-term disability claim with insurer

·        Failed to have client’s disability claim processed through administrative channels

·        Failed to file action against insurer challenging denial of client’s claim for more than 14 months

·        Failed to ascertain time frame for filing legal action against insurer

·        Failed to file response to insurer’s motion for summary judgment (dismissal of client’s lawsuit)

·        Negligence in failing to respond to insurer’s summary judgment motion led trial court to dismiss client’s lawsuit

·        Waited over five (5) years to file second action against insurer after the onset of his client’s disability, which was long after contractual deadline for doing so

·        Failed to communicate with client

·        Failed to notify client of dismissal of second lawsuit

·        Failed to provide client with her file for 4 months after being fired

As one would suspect, this wasn’t Roger’s First bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received one complimentary reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct

As a consequence of his misconduct, the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Roger by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. November 2014), Roger practices with Hale, Skemp, Hanson, Skemp & Sleik at 505 King Street in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
