Attorney Gary Knudson of Rhinelander, WI; ethical misfit

The state of Wisconsin presented Gary D. Knudson with a law license in 1971 after he graduated from the University of South Dakota Law College.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Gary guilty of the following misconduct.
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to provide competent representation (moron)
  • Failed to expedite litigation consistent with his client’s interests
  • Failed to timely refund an unused filing fee of $57 (cheater)
In one matter, Gary was hired to represent a client in a divorce action; however, he failed to file an approved QDRO with the circuit for over two years.

In another matter, Gary represented a client who owned an automobile rental agency regarding damage to one of its vehicles. Gary failed to perform any legal services regards the rental agency’s claim other than review of the initial materials that were provided to him by the agency.

As a consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Gary by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. March 2013), Gary practices at 8A West Davenport Street in Rhinelander, Wisconsin.
