Attorney Roger Merry of Monroe, WI; repeat offender

The state of Wisconsin presented Roger G. Merry with a law license in 1974 after he graduated from Creighton University Law School.

The Office of Lawyer Registration (OLR) found Roger guilty of the following misconduct.

Roger represented a married couple in various matters, including the husband’s adoption of his wife’s children from a prior marriage. Subsequently, the couple divorced, and the ex-husband brought a post-divorce motion seeking primary placement of the children he had adopted and sought adjustments to child support payments.

Roger represented the ex-wife in defense of the ex-husband’s motion. Although the ex-husband immediately notified Roger of his object ions, Roger refused to step down and subsequently undertook representation of the ex-wife regarding a petition involving the children. The ex-husband then brought a motion before the court to have Roger removed from the case because he was involved in an egregious conflict of interest, which the court ordered shortly thereafter.

As expected, this wasn’t Roger’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. He previously received two complimentary reprimands, one private and one public, involving other conflict of interest situations. Additionally, Roger also received another private reprimand for engaging in a variety of misconduct.

As a consequence of her misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Roger by gifting him with his fourth (4th) complimentary reprimand. .

As we speak (ca. November 2012) Roger practices with the Merry Law Offices at 1518 11th Street in Monroe, Wisconsin.
