Attorney Patrick Cooper of Milwaukee; check bouncer, repeat offender

 

The state of Wisconsin presented Patrick Michael Cooper with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Duquesne University Law School.

 

The Wisconsin found Patty guilty of the following misconduct.

 

Patty’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty and misrepresentation
  • Issued at least 17 checks for $25,657 on insufficient funds count (rubber)
  • Converted to his own use $4,425 belonging to a client (thief)
  • Made misrepresentations (lied) to client
  • Lied about status of client’s case
  • Failed to hold client funds in client trust accounts
  • Failed to advise clients of receipt of client funds
  • Failed to deliver funds owing to clients to several individual clients
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Patty!)
  • Failed to deliver client’s file to successor counsel for weeks
  • Failed to keep client’s informed of status of legal matters
  • Failed to respond to clients’ information requests
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Patty by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.

 

Patty’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

 

  • Engaged in 42 separate instances of misconduct
  • Failed to respond to repeated requests for medical records involving a workers’ compensation matter
  • Never returned promised calls to client
  • Lied to client he had received settlement offer
  • Failed to keep client’s informed of status of legal matters
  • Failed to respond to clients’ information requests
  • Failed to provide client file to client upon request
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Failed to explain matters to client and to consult with client regarding means of pursuing objectives of representation
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty and misrepresentation
  • Engaged in illegal practice of law while license suspended
  • Failed to fully cooperate with ethics investigators (Up yours, said Patty!)

 

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Wisconsin Supreme Court punished Patty by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

 

As we speak (ca. May 2018), Patty practices the Cooper Law Group SC at 250 East Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
