Attorney Tarik Polovina of Everett, WA; crook, slacker

The State of Washington presented Tarik Polovina with a law license in 2017 after he graduated from the University of Washington School of Law.

The Washington State Bar found Tarik guilty of engaging in the following misconduct.

  • Failed to respond to the State’s pleadings in a parentage matter
  • Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
  • Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty, or misrepresentation
  • Failed to appear at summary judgment hearing on client’s behalf
  • Failed to file a motion for an emergency hearing on behalf of his client
  • Failed to communicate with his client regarding the status of a parentage matter
  • Failed to inform his client about the State’s pleadings, the State’s requests for information, and the summary judgment hearing in the parentage matter
  • Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Screw you, said Tarik!)
  • Provided false information to his client about the reason for the court’s child support order
  • Provided false information to his client’s new attorney
  • Charged his client a fee for work not performed (crook)
  • Falsely communicated to his client about the services he performed and the hours billed

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Tarik by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. May 2023), Tarik will resume his so-called practice of law in late 2024 in Everett, Washington.
