Attorney Alfredo Lopez of Seattle; idiot, serial offender

The state of Washington provided Alfredo Lopez with a law license in 1987 after he graduated from the University of Washington Law School.

The Washington State Bar found Alfie guilty of the following misconduct.

Alfie’s 1^st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to provide competent representation (idiot)
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to communicate with clients
• Knowingly disobeyed a court order to pay malpractice judgment
• Failed to make $5,000 payments re: malpractice settlement to client
• Failed to provide evidence he paid all client medical liens
• Malpractice settlement secured via Alfie’s Porsche
• Sold Porsche to prevent attachment to pay malpractice settlement
• Court issued bench warrant for Alfie’s arrest for selling Porsche
• Failed to advise clients of the status of their matters

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Alfie by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand. 

Alfie’s 2^nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Failed to terminate representation when required to do so
• Failed to expedite client litigation
• Failed to take steps to protect client interests upon termination
• Willfully disobeyed a court order (Up yours, said Alfie!)

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Alfie by gifting him with a complimentary 60-day suspension of his law license.

Alfie’s 3^rd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree

• Failed to communicate with clients
• Failed to comply with client’s new attorney for info re: amount of client settlement
• Failed to maintain $6,790 of client funds deposited in trust account
• Failed to main adequate trust account records
• Failed to promptly pay client funds owing to client
• Failed to comply with client request for info re: amount of client settlement
• Failed to keep client reasonably informed of status of matter
• Failed to comply with client information requests
• Failed to maintain complete records of all funds, securities, and other properties of a client coming into his possession
• Failed to render accountings to client regarding client funds
• Failed to promptly pay requested client funds that client entitled to receive

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Washington Supreme Court punished Alfie by gifting him with a complimentary 3-year suspension of his law license.
