Attorney Douglas Gerwick of Grove City, PA; cheerleader for thieving attorney

The state of Pennsylvania provided Douglas B. Gerwick with a law license in 1993 after he graduated from Duquesne University School of Law.

In one matter, Doug acted as a character witness for attorney Peter Payne Jr. of Pittsburgh who was disbarred for stealing over $500,000 from his client to pay personal and/or business expenses.

When Payne the Thief applied to the Supreme Court to be reinstated, Doug had the chutzpah to support his reinstatement by testifying as follows.

  • Pete deserves another opportunity (to steal more money from his clients!)
  • He’s sincere in his desire to return to practice of law
  • Pete’s morally qualified to resume practice
  • Testified that Pete’s competent

It should be noted that in addition to practicing his brand of law, Doug was employed as a magisterial judge for 18 years.

And lastly, Doug apparently is of the opinion that Payne had a constitutional right to earn a dishonest living practicing law.

As we speak (ca. November 2019), Doug the Cheerleader for Thieving Lawyers practices at 34 Westminster Place in Grove City, Pennsylvania.

CAUTION: Doug does not carry legal malpractice insurance
