Attorney Clifford Haines of Philadelphia; bullying loser

The state of Pennsylvania presented Clifford E. Haines with a law license in 1971 after she graduated from Stanford University Law School.

In one matter, Cliff was detained after he allegedly hit a sheriff’s deputy.

Barbara Grant, a spokeswoman for the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Department said that the incident followed a dispute between Haines and the deputy, and “it took a couple of officers to subdue” the lawyer. Haines’ shoulder was broken when he was taken to the floor.

Ms. Grant told the Legal Intelligencer that the incident began after a deputy told Haines he was leaving the building through an entrance, which was the wrong way. Grant said Haines became insistent and used aggressive language.

Cliff left; however, he returned several minutes later and put his hands in the deputy’s fact. The deputy told Cliff to back off, but his hand hit the deputy’s arms and hands. A tussle then ensued.

District Attorney Kelly B. Hodge refused to file criminal charges against Cliff the Bully. Apparently, since Cliff was the former chair of the Philadelphia Bar Association he was given the proverbial wink and a nod.
