Attorney Kevin Lafky of Salem, OR; ethical leprechaun

The state of Oregon provided Kevin T. Lafky with a law license in 1985.

The Oregon State Bar found Kevin guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Kevin offered to pay compensation to witnesses that was contingent upon both the content of their testimony and the outcome of future plea bargaining and a request for commutation of a death sentence involving Kevin’s client.

Kevin offered to pay the parents of the person his client killed $15,000 if they’d sign an affidavit supporting the commutation of his client’s death sentence. Kevin offered an additional $15,000 to the parents if the commutation petition was successful.

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oregon Supreme Court punished Kevin by gifting him with a complimentary reprimand.

As we speak (ca. December 2016) Kevin practices with Lafky & Lafky at 429 Court Street NE in Salem, Oregon.
