Attorney James Conrady of Okmulgee, OK; convicted gunslinger

The state of Oklahoma presented James Albert Conrady with a law license in 1976 after he graduated from the University of Oklahoma Law School.

The Oklahoma Bar Association found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, after discovering that his girlfriend was dating State McCroskey, Jimmy armed himself with a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and drove to McCroskey's residence. Jimmy then forcibly entered the home, armed with the loaded pistol.

After finding no one in the home, Jimmy fired rounds throughout the home, including into a bathroom mirror, a television, and other personal items belonging to Pierce's boyfriend. One of the rounds pierced an interior wall and the projectile was discovered in a bedroom normally occupied by McCroskey's daughter. Another round penetrated the outside wall of the house and lodged in a neighbor's storm door.

After exiting the home, Jimmy discharged his firearm multiple times into his girlfriend’s and McCroskey's unoccupied vehicles. Jimmy then left the scene and returned to his home in downtown Okmulgee.

Jimmy’s conduct led to his arrest and eventual guilty plea to the following crimes:

  • Burglary in the second degree
  • Possessions of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • Reckless conduct with a firearm
  • Possession of a firearm under the influence of intoxicants
  • Two counts of malicious injury to an automobile

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Oklahoma Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 2-year suspension of his law license.

As we speak (August 2017), Jimmy practices at 100 East 7th Street in Okmulgee, Oklahoma.
