Attorney Jon Brown of Hugo, OK; convicted felon

The state of Oklahoma presented Jon Edward Brown with a law license in 1994 after he graduated from the University of Tulsa Law School.

The Oklahoma Bar Association found Jon guilty of the following misconduct.

In one matter, Jon entered into a plea agreement that consigned him to a five (5) contract with the McCurtain County Drug Court Program.2 The Drug Court contract requires him to successfully complete twelve months of intensive monitoring and six months of aftercare, which includes a weekly case management session, individual counseling, two group counseling sessions per week, attendance at AA or NA meetings two times per week, daily check-in and a daily curfew.

After successful completion of an 18-month program, the Jon was required to continue in the program for a total term of five (5) years. If he successfully completes the program, all charges will be dismissed; if he fails to complete the program, he will be immediately sentenced to five (5) years in the custody of the Oklahoma Department.

In addition the plea on a felony drug charge, the Bar ruled that Jon’s possession of a law license posed an immediate threat of substantial and irreparable harm to the members of the public.
