Attorney James Gay of Cleveland; ethical misfit

The state of Ohio presented James Arthur Gay with a law license in 1979 after he graduated from Cleveland State University Law School.

The Cleveland Bar Association found Jimmy guilty of the following misconduct

  1. Engaged in conduct involving dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation
  2. Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  3. Failed to maintain complete records of client property
  4. Failed to promptly pay client funds to client upon request
  5. Failed to achieve lawful objectives of client
  6. Failed to cooperate with ethics investigators (Up Yours, said Jimmy!)
  7. Failed to file mandatory inventory in probate matter

As a consequence of his misconduct, the apologists for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Ohio Supreme Court punished Jimmy by gifting him with a complimentary 6-month suspension of his law license.

As we speak (ca. February 2014), Jimmy practices at 3324 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Cleveland, Ohio.
