Attorney N. Shannon Bartels of Lima, OH; repeat offender

The state of Ohio presented N. Shannon Bartels with a law license in 1994 after she graduated from Case Western University Law School in Cleveland, Ohio.

The Allen County Bar Association found Bartels guilty of the following misconduct.

It should be noted that this isn’t Bartels’ Fist bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree. She previously received a complimentary reprimand for engaging in similar conduct. An article setting forth said conduct can be found by visiting the URL listed at the end of this article.

In one matter, Bartels found it acceptable to engage in sexually charged text messages with a client involved in a divorce matter. The text messages were explicit and graphic and violated ethics rules that prohibit an attorney from soliciting or engaging in sexual activity with a client.

As we speak (ca. June 2016) Bartels practices law with the Bartels Law Office at 319 North Elizabeth Street in Lima, Ohio, which is about 70 miles south of Toledo.
