Attorney Robert Adams of Hickory, NC; tax cheat, repeat offender

 
The state of North Carolina presented Robert W. Adams with a law license in 1972.
 
The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Bobby guilty of the following misconduct.
 
Bobby’s 1st bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
  • Failed to act with due diligence
  • Failed to keep clients informed as to status of their case
  • Failed to respond to grievance committee letters (Up Yours, said Bobby!)
  • Client’s sactioned $1,500 due to Bob’s incompetence
As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Benny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
 
Bobby’s 2nd bite at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
  • Over a period of three years, Bobby failed to file his personal North Carolina income tax return.
  • Engaged in conduct adversely reflecting on fitness to practice law
  • Misconduct involved multiple offenses
  • Engaged in conduct constituting fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
  • Criminally convicted of 3 counts of failing to file state tax returns
  • Engaged in a pattern of misconduct
As a consequence of his misconduct the cheerleaders for Attorney Misfits sitting on the Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar punished Benny by gifting him with a complimentary censure.
 
Bobby’s additional bites at the Attorney Misfit Apple Tree
 
In addition to the above findings of misconduct, Bobby received the following punishment:
  1. Complimentary reprimand for trust account violations
  2. Complimentary admonition for neglecting client’s real estate closing
  3. Complimentary reprimand for failing to cooperate with ethics investigation
As we speak (ca. January 2014) Bobby practices 741 5th Street in Hickory, North Carolina.
