Attorney Jonathan Hunt of Durham, NC; lying slacker

The state of North Carolina provided Jonathan Holmes Hunt with a law license in 2008 after he graduated from the University of North Carolina School of Law.

The Grievance Committee of the North Carolina State Bar found Johnny guilty of the following misconduct.

• On at least occasions, falsely claimed to have served client appellate brief on state DA
• Failed to act with due diligence (slacker)
• Engaged in conduct involving fraud, deceit, dishonesty or misrepresentation
• Engaged in conduct prejudicial to the administration of justice
• Knowingly made false statements of material fact or law to a tribunal

As a direct consequence of his misconduct, the enablers for Attorney Misfits sitting on the North Carolina Supreme Court punished Johnny by gifting him with a complimentary stayed 1-year suspension of his law license.

In truth, the comedians sitting on the North Carolina Supreme Court didn’t mete out any meaningful punishment to Johnny.
